About:

Darja has spent the past 10 years consulting as an interaction designer for companies such as MTV, Sony Ericsson and Swedish 911-organization SOS Alarm.

In 2002, she founded inUse together with four other colleagues sharing her focus on user experience as a crucial issue for achieving business value. As the CEO of inUse, she advocates the need for interaction designers to motivate design choices in a way that can be traced back to defined business effects.

Title CEO
Organization InUse
What type of IxD do primarily you do? (Web, desktop, mobile web, mobile app, devices/hardware, services, etc.) Strategic analysis of what needs to be done in order to acheive the goals of my client's organisation and their customers.
Who is your favorite author or speaker about IxD? Wow. There are many, but basically every single one who a) gives even senior designers interesting new insights, and b) manages to make a difference in the IT world at large
What do you hope to gain most by attending Interaction08? I'm always in for the fun of learning and changing the world together with other passionate designers
What topics are you most interested in? How to get real results. Designers have quite a challenge in being inspiring, creative, business minded and sometimes hardcore pragmatic in order to accomplish real change.

Darja Isaksson:

Hi Rob,
Nice to hear that some people actually _choose_ to live up here, apart from us poor fellows who are just born here and kind of stuck because of language, family and weird cultural quirks :D

It'll be nice to meet you too, and I hope the workshop will be of good use to you. Naturally, I'll also be more than happy to introduce you to other Swedes and talk a bit more about what's going on up here...

Rob Nero:

Hello! I'm looking forward to your workshop. I've been to Malmo many times, and would enjoy talking with you about design in sweden. I'm looking to relocate this year. :)

David Malouf:

Hey Darja,
There is going to be a book store at the conference. I didn't know that InUse had a book, otherwise I would have had our bookseller be sure they have it. Email me the details and maybe they can sell it. You might want to put the publisher in touch with them if they can't.

Darja Isaksson:

Hi Niklas, looking forward to meet you too :) Congratulations to the great respons you seem to be getting for this conference! We're really looking forward to it, as it now draws closer...

Mikkel Michelsen:

Unfortunately, I cant make it to your workshop as it collides with something else. It sounds VERY interesting.

Marc Rettig:

Hi Darja,
Just read the description of your workshop. I'm sorry it's at the same time as ours, or I'd attend. I'd be interested to see Effective Maps. Is there some place I can learn more about them?

Greg Petroff:

Hey Darja,

We met at GEL 06. Looking forward to seeing you again at the conference. Thanks for all your support of IxDA

Niklas Wolkert:

Hi Darja, looking forward to meeting you again. I saw that Mikael is coming as well. Is he helping you out with your effect map w/s?
