We are planning a kind of "hiring salon". We're setting up an appointment card system so employers and jobseekers can meet, and we've reserved a room for interviewing. I'm firming up the details on this and will have more for you very soon.
It would be more formal than the mixer you're proposing, so wouldn't necessarily replace it.

I am interested in the hiring salon idea but I may be swamped with conference and board duties.
Dante, all workshops are still completely open. Anyone lucky enough to have a registration to the conference can register for 2 of the workshops. I know we'll be closing registration for workshops before the conference starts, but probably not until the Monday before the conference. There is still plenty of room to sign up. Just use your RegOnline ID and log in and add to your registration 1 or 2 of the workshops.
